The S.T.E.A.M. Lab Makerspace

The STEAM Lab Makerspace at the Phelps Library

The STEAM Lab is a DIY Education Center where students of all ages can build, learn, and experiment through both self-directed projects and Library Educator-taught classes. This makerspace is an idea lab and provides the community free access to state-of-the-art tools and technologies to imagine and create in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM).

Within the STEAM Lab, the Phelps Library teaches award-winning and innovative classes, inspires creativity, and nurtures opportunities for the next entrepreneur, inventor or artist to emerge. Creative, hands-on STEM and STEAM workshops, including a wide variety of fiber arts, woodworking, circuitry and electronics, and virtual and augmented reality technologies, are taught on a regular basis.

The S.T.E.A.M. Lab is open during Library hours.  Use of the space is free regardless of residency, and a library card is not required.
