Mildew on a Book
- Spray Lysol about or toward the book (not directly) while fanning the pages.
- Stand the book on end outdoors in sunlight and spray Lysol at the fanned pages from several feet away.
- Stand book in sun for one to three hours.
- Place book in a “decontamination chamber” made of a 30-gallon plastic trash bag and a wire tie. Place book in the bag and spray another mist into the bag without wetting the book. Seal it with the twist tie for one to two weeks.
- The result is a book that is mildew free, but smells like Lysol.
