Dear Student:

Thank you for your interest in our Computer Partners program.  Computer Partners is a free tutoring service geared to adults with little or no computer experience.  Each student will work with an experienced volunteer using a planned training guide on a library computer.  You can choose either a Microsoft Vista operating system on a laptop, or a Microsoft Windows XP operating system.  The topics to be covered include:

  • Computer orientation
  • Mouse and keyboard skills
  • Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Vista and desktop navigation skills, including basic word processing skills
  • Basic internet
  • Basic email

Each student will meet at the library with the tutor for one hour each week for five consecutive weeks. Sessions will take place either in the Local History room on the desktop computer, or in the Community Meeting Room on a laptop computer.  Students will be scheduled in the order they signed up and preferred time availability.

Please fill out the Student Skills Assessment Checklist and return to the library.  Your completed Student Assessment Checklist will help the tutor assess your learning needs.

We look forward to meeting you.
